The End of Basketball

It is official...no more basketball for this season:)  Jake and the Griz had their last tournament Saturday.  They won the first game..but lost the second.  Then it was off to a pizza place to celebrate the season.  It has been good for Jake to be on this team and he has grown a lot.  The team has a lot of really good kids on it with really good families so it has been a positive experience.  His coach has been exceptional and we are truly grateful for his patience.  We will see if this is what Jake wants to do in the future.

After all the festivities we went to the Idaho State highschool championship playoffs where Fruitland was playing for the state championship.  It was a lot of fun, in the big Idaho Center, sitting with lots of friends and watching Fruitland take the State championship.  We know several of the boys and so it was a lot of fun!

It was then off to Costco (it's amazing how that always happens:) and then back home to continue the party with the Stampflis.  The kids watched a movie (Puss in Boots) and played in the hot tub while the the Stampflis attempted to teach Sarah and I Penucle (spelling?) for the 5th or 6th time...we are slow learners.  It was fun to spend some more time with the Stampflis.
As for the week...highlights would include the cake auction at the Blue and Gold activity (Jake is too old but who can resist a cake auction:)  Friday night Jake had his final bbal practice and for the last hour the kids played the adults...which turned out to be a lot of fun!  Kate, Maddie & Brooke (on my shoulders) even joined in the fun...no injuries for us old people either:)  Other news Maddie got an A+ on her first spelling test ever and now has 100 AR points (the best any of our kids have done for the first grade).

Kate made the coolest little pj's for Brooke out of a pillow case...very creative.  Kate is taking sewing lessons from a friend and loving it.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Love

Dave, Sarah, Jake, Kate, Maddie & Brooke
