Jake has had an exciting week...not only did the kids have Monday off but he ended up being the second kid to make the coveted Wall of Fame for the entire 4th grade!!! It is actually a big deal. Congratulations Jake for a job very well done!!! I will let you in on a little parenting trick though...bribery! It is amazing what a Ninetendo DS can do for a kid:) If you haven't guessed it Jake now is a proud owner of a Ninetendo DS...and champion of Lego Battles. To make it on the Wall of Fame Jake had to earn 100 AR points (reading a lot of books) and complete 10 challenging activities from memorizing and reciting an Indian Chief's speech to performing multiplication facts in a certain time period. We are very proud of Jake's efforts.
Kate. Kate was all geared up for 2 more basketball games Saturday but she woke up sick (fever). She is currently still sick and had to miss church. She did have a good week though as well, getting 100% on her spelling test and having fun practicing for the play (she is Swiss the mouse:)
Maddie. Maddie had a fun birthday party to go to this week and has been busy with play practice and clogging. For her special day we made hearts out of a toilet paper roll and threaded them with yarn...anytime the kids get to paint it is always a winner.
Brooke. Brooke continues to keep us on our toes. She is officially a Sunbeam although we are still working out some of the hiccups (like not running up to Sarah during sharing time and not wanting to be in her class without Sarah). Brooke made us smile the other day when Maddie had a friend over and we overheard Brooke saying..."I have a dad, Dave, and he can juggle..." just what everyone wants to know:)
We had big plans for Saturday but poor little Kate was sick so all our plans went down the drain (or the toilet:). I had a combined activity in the morning and then we were susposed to go to Kate's B-Ball games in Weiser but sadly Kate was sick. The rest of the day's plans were quickly converted to staying at home. Jake worked on his pinewood derby car and we kept our Saturday tradition of going in the hot tub and having pizza and a movie...it was fun.
