Christmas

What an exciting week...

The fun began with a visit from Brent/Rach/Maddox. Uncle Brent quickly earned the title of Uncle Fred (we're not sure why) but I'm afraid it has stuck:) It was so much fun to have such energetic and fun guests (and Aunt Rach and Uncle Fred were fun too...:) We miss them! Thanks for coming!

Then it was the countdown to Christmas. I had Friday off and so we somehow managed to borrow our neighbors 4 wheeler and pulled the kids around all over the place (the snow here is perfect:) It was a lot of fun. Friday night we had a great meal and then re-enacted the nativity scene...probably a little more energetic than what really happened:) Then it was off to bed...the most torturess night to actuallly get sleep as a kid. Thank goodness Brooke was tired and so the night was somewhat manageable and Santa was not disturbed (although Brooke did end up in our bed and Sarah had to go up and sleep with the kids for a little because Jake couldn't sleep...note to self - when building don't put the kids bedroom right above the master bedroom:)

At about 6:45 our phone began to ring (we gave Jake the cell phone with instructions to call us at 7:00 a.m. (no earlier...you can see how that went). We were all up at 7:00 and the fun began. Santa was busy this year, bringing the kids bikes for our future race track in the backyard. Kate loved her bike, Maddie's bike was too big (Santa is slipping up a little in his old age), and Jake...well he was focused on his Legos. If you were to ask the kids their favorite gifts Jake would say his Legos, Kate would say her bike and sweater/hat outfit, Maddie would say her Gumball machine and her Leapster games, and Brooke would say her little 4 wheeler/thing. By the way Brooke has graduated from her crib to a "big girl" bed which we decorated for Christmas (not near as exciting as her 4 wheeler/thing). Sarah ended up with a George Foreman grill and a GPS jogging watch and I ended up with a weater station remote/thing which is really cool. It was an awesome Christmas and we had a lot of fun playing with all the stuff. Almost too soon we were off to go sledding with the Chudleighs and then spent time eating and playing at their home...it was a lot of fun. Then we were back home and wanting to stay up late playing some more...life is great as a kid!

So much more to say but no energy...hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. Thanks to all who called, sent cards, or gifts.

Love

Dave, Sarah, Jake, Kate, Maddie & Brooke
